GST registration with a virtual office: the documents that decide approval

20-08-2026 01:29 PM By Rajev Harlalka

The approval hinges on the address paperwork

A GST application with a virtual office address is approved or rejected on three documents. A rent agreement in your business name - not the provider's. A no-objection certificate from the premises owner. A recent utility bill proving the premises exist. If any of the three is missing, mismatched or stale, the officer raises a query - and most rejections start exactly there.

The paperwork is necessary but not sufficient. Since the department began physical verification drives, the deciding factor is whether the address survives a visit: signage with your business name, premises that look like a workplace, and a person who can present the agreement when the officer arrives. An address that exists only in a PDF fails that day.

Timelines: a complete, verifiable file is typically approved in 7-15 working days. Queries add a week or more each round - so the cheapest way to be fast is to file a complete set the first time.

Every Nextoffis registration ships with the full document set in your business name, and our state representative attends the verification. Query handling is included until approval - we answer the officer, not forward the query back to you.
